So I had an interesting night last night. I went to Green Park Market again to get a new camera since American won't answer my complaint about my missing camera with more than some political, "your case is going to help us in the future" bull. After dinner Katie and I decided to walk to a small grocery store that looked like they had fresh fruit...it is on the way home. This guy starts to walk behind us asking us to please stop and that he's been chasing me around Green Park all day and just wants to talk. Of course we don't turn around or acknowledge him at all and he went away. The grocery store was great! the man there only spoke hindi so he told me all the hindi names for my fruit. Also, the apples were from..........WASHINGTON! Tree top. awesome. anyway, as we exited this same guy is in an SUV (a really nice car for India) and just wants to talk. He stayed in the car and didn't get to close...which was good.
He lives in Green Park and has seen me walking around, thought I was pretty, and wanted to know my name. His name is Khan. he gave me his number and asked me to call him (umm...yeah no.). He also was well aware that following us down the road had been creepy. And for anyone who is concerned while reading this, no need to worry! I won't be calling him! He was Muslim anyway and over here they don't treat women with much respect. Plus he wasn't that cute. I just thought it was half flattering, half....well, weird. I asked the Indian girl, Iram, who works with me if this was out of the ordinary and she said that most Indian men will stare at Americans but not approach them.
Also, I found a gym!! So excited about that. Sarah, another fellow intern, and I are going to go in the mornings. So all in all, life is good!!
